Comparing Apples to Apples

I realized that I've been neglecting my blog, and as a result gotten back into the habit of having thoughts circle through my head without an outlet.  Decided it was time to get back on writing my thoughts down and letting them go.

Started the day with great intentions.  Went to the farmer's market.  Decided to go to Daisy's Cupcakery.  Knew that I'd end up going home with a cupcake, so I opted to only eat half my omelet and bring the other half home for breakfast tomorrow.  Felt great about the fact that even though I had a cupcake that I chose to eat less of my regular food, which I don't know that I normally would have done.

After breakfast I headed to the botanical garden and then the zoo.  Then I headed to an art fair.  Parked as far as possible at all three stops, dispute the fact that I would we walking a lot. So, I felt pretty good about that.  Found out that the art fair was giving out free cupcakes.  Eek!  Before my brain had a chance to say no, my feet headed towards the cupcakes.  My brain caught up, began to say no, and my eyes saw a red velvet cupcake.  Not sure exactly how it ended up in my mouth.

Headed to the grocery store from there.  Came home, put everything away, and cleaned up a bit (not enough as needed, but it's a start).  Wanted to put together meals so that I'd have options for weekly meals, but somehow I ended up leaving the store without everything I needed.  So, only ended up with one dish.  Luckily it was pretty health.  Chicken chili made of veggies from the farmer's market.

Felt a bit guilty about the two cupcakes.  However, in the end I didn't go too far over my Weight Watcher points.  I'll be honest, in past years I would have had the two cupcakes and three fatty meals.  So, I'm feeling fairly good at the end of the day that while I didn't make amazing choices I've made better choices.

On a side note....at the botanical garden I saw a lot of birds.  I ended up scaring one by talking to it like I would talk to Mango.  Pretty sure that I scared people around me as well.  I don't recall actually talking to birds before him.
